Nuestro Barrio, a television series about Hispanic life in the United States, is in the forefront of the new trend of “edu-tainment” programming, with character-driven dramatic storylines rooted in real life issues. The show uses the popular “telenovela” or soap opera format to address financial literacy and human relations issues, including home ownership, credit, and the dangers of predatory lending.

Nuestro Barrio Senior Fraud Campaign

 

Fraud financially devastates many individuals and families. It is also the number one crime against senior citizens. As part of the campaign, new television PSA's and bi-lingual brochures and posters are being released nationwide.

Nuestro Barrio Homebuyer Education Campaign

 

The Nuestro Barrio Homebuyer Education Campaign is an innovate approach to provide financial literacy to Spanish and English speaking audiences. The campaign will work with ten nonprofits in North Carolina to implement financial literacy and outreach program.

Media Advocacy

 

Media Advocacy is the strategic use of media as a resource for advancing social or public policy initiatives. Our particular focus is video advocacy, the use of video to advocate for a cause or express a viewpoint.
